Unfailing Love

Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet My unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,” says the LORD, who has compassion on you.

Isaiah 54: 10

With all I see and hear in the news lately it is nice to know that even when everything looks
like it is going wrong –mountains shaken, hills removed, that God’s love for us is unfailing!! What a comforting thought that is, especially this Christmas season.

People discuss and debate about when Jesus was actually born, but regardless of the time year – one truth remains; God wrapped Jesus in human flesh, and sent Him to this earth because of HIS unfailing love for us!!!

Remember tonight as you look at your Christmas tree that the angel or star that may be on top of your tree heralded great news and led people to where Jesus was.

The lights that fill you with a warm glow represent the light of God’s love. Jesus said that He is the light, and we are to be a light to a dark world. Think about this as you watch your tree sparkle bright.

As you look at each present wrapped so pretty, remember we have all been given gifts by the Lord. Some come wrapped very nicely, some seem to come rough and ragged, but God himself wrapped each one. Don’t forget gifts are eventually meant to be unwrapped and used!!

Finally as you sit by the glow of your tree see Jesus dying on a tree for OUR sins. He hung on the cross; bore all our shame – so one day we will be able to stand before the Throne of Grace.

Christmas isn’t about gifts, carols, or even family and friends it is about so much more. It is Gods love for us taking a very real form. He was not content to give us His word – He Himself became a walking testament so we could be reconciled to Him, and eventually be led home to live in His presence for all time. Now that is truly unfailing love.

Merry Christmas!!!
